How from a small token of appreciation Blue Wife Creations was born.
This is my inspiration for #COPSROCK by Tina Maria -
After 35 years of being married to a police officer, I've experienced a rollercoaster of public support for law enforcement. One day they are revered as heroes, the next they are hated by many. However, I don't recall it ever being as bad as it has been in 2020. I was not only frightened for my husband's safety, but I was also starting to feel depressed.
In July 2020, I was furloughed from my job due to the Covid-19 pandemic. One evening, as I wandered into my husband's home office, a small, painted rock on his desk caught my eye - a memento from his travels years ago. Inspired, I decided to start painting rocks in support of my local law enforcement. I found the process to be quite therapeutic. When I presented these painted rocks to the officers, they brought smiles to their faces. This simple act lifted my own spirits as well. Feeling empowered, I now want to share this same uplifting experience with you, inviting you to share the love with police officers in your community.
This photo is of my husband, Scott, who retired in August 2021 after 41 years of service in law enforcement. I appreciate you joining me in this effort to encourage police officers across the country.
As I paint each rock, I offer a prayer and words of praise over them.
Throughout my day, I distribute small care packages to the police officers I encounter. Each package contains a "#COPSROCK", an encouraging note, and a snack. I make a point to ask for the officer's name so I can pray for them specifically. This simple gesture has been warmly received and has lifted the spirits of those who serve our community.
I am grateful for all of you who have joined me on this journey. May you be blessed.
